چکیده
Carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastics (CFRP) have excellent specific strength and rigidity, which has made them a popular material for lightweight construction. The growing demand plastics (FRP) leads to the problem of sustainable handling FRP at end their life cycle. aim research project was gain knowledge about shredding concerning optimal machine process design possible formation harmful, inhalable dust fractions WHO fibers. Toxicity should be investigated cellular level. parameters influence amount length fiber produced, both when with cutting mill single-shaft shredder. In all investigations, an increasing rotational speed increase in mass or concentration. proportion short, respirable fibers increases, but raising does not lead further, significant shortening A reduction feedstock size slightly reduced ground material. screen also There no recognizable cytotoxicity relevant concentration range up 500 μg/cm2 induction cell migration. This indicates minor flammable effects formed after inhalation. biological data indicate that produced by are only health hazard. Formally, detected carbon (CF) fragments meet definition legislator. However, currently limit value.

Fiber–fiber interactions in carbon mat thermoplastics
Carbon mat thermoplastics (CMT) consisting of 12.7 mm long, chopped carbon fibers in a polypropylene matrix were manufactured using the wetlay technique at fiber volume fractions (FVF) from 10% to 25%, and tests simulating the compression molding process were conducted. The packing stress of the CMT followed a power law relation with FVF. A single fiber pull-out fixture was used to measure the ...

Ozone modification method and air-oxidation were used for the surface treatment of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)-based carbon fiber. The surface characteristics of carbon fibers were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The interfacial properties of carbon fiber reinforced polyamide 6 (CF/PA6) composites were investigated by means of the single fiber pull-out tests. As a result...
متن کاملCharacterization and Effects of Fiber Pull-Outs in Hole Quality of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics Composite
Hole quality plays a crucial role in the production of close-tolerance holes utilized in aircraft assembly. Through drilling experiments of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic composites (CFRP), this study investigates the impact of varying drilling feed and speed conditions on fiber pull-out geometries and resulting hole quality parameters. For this study, hole quality parameters include hole size...
